Garden Designs was created in 2000 by Michael  Jarnagin. Garden Designs specializes in many aspects of landscape design and construction, yet primarily caters to residential projects, namely homeowners, landscape architects, general contractors and the building industry as a whole.

Garden Designs is a family operated company within the San Francisco Bay area, primarily serving the cities of Oakland, Piedmont, Berkeley, Orinda, Lafayette, Walnut Creek and San Francisco.

Despite our recent arrival in the Bay area, Michael has served as a landscaper for over 20 years, beginning his career as a novice gardener in the United Kingdom. The fundamental requirement of any landscape designer is the knowledge of plants through hands on experience. Michael's twenty years experience has enabled him to create award winning projects as well as landscapes that are not only beautiful but also practical, efficient and sustainable.

Too often designs are created without the ability to visualize the long-term outcome or the importance in understanding the many unique microclimates of the bay area. With the help of GD, Michael can create a personal design that fulfils the needs and enhances the lifestyle of any homeowner.

Our company prides itself on personal service and attention to detail. Each project is personally managed from the start to finish by Michael himself.
